§ 971o. Operating without license, penalties

Any person, firm or corporation that establishes, operates or maintains a junkyard, as defined in subsection (b) of § 971a of this title without obtaining the license to operate required by § 971b of this title, or that fails to comply with the conditions required in subsection (g) of § 971d of this title, shall incur a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished with a fine of not less than two thousand dollars ($2,000), nor more than five thousand dollars ($5,000), or the penalty of imprisonment for a term which shall not exceed six (6) months, or both penalties at the discretion of the court.
