§ 225e. Special account

The amounts collected on account of the fees charged for services related to this chapter, shall be covered into a special account in the Department of the Treasury pursuant to the provisions of Section 27 of Act Number 63 of August 14, 1991, known as the “Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Trademarks Act”, for the purpose of defraying those operating expenses of the trade name registry that are not defrayed by appropriations from the General Fund or other budget appropriations.

Prior to making use of the resources deposited in the Special Account, the Department of State shall submit a budget of expenses chargeable to such funds annually, for the approval of the Office of Management and the Budget. The remainder of the funds unused or pledged at the end of each fiscal year for the purposes in law of said account shall revert to the General Fund.
