(a) All counselors must be duly certified by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) after having passed the corresponding tests administered under the HUD-HECM National Counselors Network.
(b) Financial institutions shall obtain an updated list of counseling agencies from the webpage of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development in order for them to provide it to all applicants. If for any reason the list is not available on said webpage, they shall contact the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to obtain it.
