§ 5264. Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Day

(a) February 14 of each year is hereby declared as the “Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Day”, thus assisting in the promotion of public education and awareness efforts among the people of Puerto Rico.

(b) Each year, the Governor of Puerto Rico shall issue a proclamation to such effect and shall exhort all public and private entities, as well as the citizens in general, to join in the celebration of said Week and to organize activities aimed at such purposes.

(c) The Department of Health, as well as other public and private bodies and entities, and the municipalities of Puerto Rico shall adopt the necessary measures to achieve the objectives of this section by organizing and holding public education and awareness activities for the people of Puerto Rico to observe the “Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Week”.

(d) A copy of the annual proclamation shall be distributed to the communication media for disclosure and/or publication.
