§ 5227. ALS Disease Awareness Week

(a) The second week of May is hereby declared as the “ALS Disease Awareness Week” also known as Lou Gehrig Disease.

(b) The Governor of Puerto Rico, through a proclamation, shall exhort the People of Puerto Rico to observe the second week of May of each year as the ALS Disease Awareness Week.

(c) The Department of Health, in collaboration with the private sector, shall be responsible for the holding of activities and educational forums during the month of May which shall lead to raise greater awareness of the ALS disease.
