§ 5186. Women’s Week in Puerto Rico

(a) To declare the second week of March as “Women’s Week in Puerto Rico”.

(b) The Office of the Women’s Advocate, the Department of Education, the Department of Labor and Human Resources and the Office for the Socioeconomic Financing and Self Sufficiency of the Special Communities of Puerto Rico shall announce the significance of said week by holding special activities and publicly recognizing that women have made significant contributions to the lives of our people. It shall be an educational week during which the community in general shall receive orientation regarding the rights and responsibilities of women.

(c) A proclamation exhorting the people of Puerto Rico to join the activities to celebrate Women’s Week in Puerto Rico shall be issued by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and delivered to the Women’s Advocate, the Secretaries of the Departments of Education, Labor and Human Resources, and to the Director of the Office for the Socioeconomic Financing and Self Sufficiency of Special Communities.
