§ 5142. 4-H Clubs Week

(a) The first week of October of each year is hereby declared the “4-H Clubs Week”.

(b) In said week shall be celebrated in different places of Puerto Rico, sport activities, the 4-H parade, open house, local audiences, 4-H initiations, family dinner, day to share, oratory contests, excursions, exhibitions of photography, radio programs, dramas, placing of poster, delivery of flowers and food baskets, adoption of a 4-H kid, proclamations, participation in religious ceremonies, exhibitions, an activity of fraternization with sponsors, leaders and the staff of the Agriculture Extension Service, unveiling of the 4-H ex-alumni gallery, achievements day, legislative day, symbolic holding of posts, and other activities.

(c) The aforementioned activities in subsection (b), shall be carried out under the sponsorship of the Agricultural Extension Service, with the cooperation of the “Asociación de Lideres Voluntarios 4-H de Puerto Rico, Inc.”, in schools and other adequate places addressed to inform the citizenry the importance that Clubs 4-H have for the positive development of the youth and to make known the activities and work philosophy which serve this purpose.

(d) Prior to such week, the Governor shall issue a proclamation appealing to the people of Puerto Rico to cooperate in its celebration.
