§ 5106. Puerto Rican Painters and Masters of the Plastic Arts Week

(a) The week of the month of December of each year that includes the second Sunday of said month, is hereby declared as the “Puerto Rican Painters and Masters of the Plastic Arts Week”.

(b) The Governor of Puerto Rico, through a commemorative proclamation, shall designate the week that includes the second Sunday of the month of December of each year as the week dedicated to Puerto Rican painters and masters of the plastic arts. Said proclamation shall be published and diffused through the media at least seven (7) days prior to the beginning of said week.

(c) The Secretary of Education, the President of the University of Puerto Rico, the Director of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, and the Director of the Tourist Company, together with other agencies and public instrumentalities, shall coordinate suitable activities with associations, groups, and private persons and institutions, to promote, acknowledge, extol and honor our outstanding painters and masters of the plastic arts during said week.
