§ 5103. Héctor Francisco Urdaneta-Hernández Day

(a) To declare and provide for the celebration in commemoration of the birthdate and the musical artistry and achievements of composer Héctor Francisco Urdaneta-Hernández in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, on January 30 of each year, in fair tribute for his musical legacy to the People of Puerto Rico and to Latin America.

(b) The Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico shall issue the Proclamation regarding the commemoration provided in this section on this date, and shall exhort the participation of public, municipal and private entities, as well as of the people of Puerto Rico, in the coordination of these efforts and activities.

The Puerto Rico Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the University of Puerto Rico, the Department of Education, the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, the Municipality of San Juan, as well as other public and municipal entities, are specifically authorized to coordinate and hold activities pursuant to the mandate established in this section.
