§ 5072. Puerto Rican Boxer’s Day

(a) To declare March 23 of every year as “Puerto Rican Boxer’s Day,” in remembrance of the birthday of Sixto Escobar, the first bantam weight Puerto Rican world boxing champion.

(b) The Governor of Puerto Rico, through a proclamation, shall urge the People of Puerto Rico to recognize those Puerto Rican boxers who have distinguished themselves in the various ranks of boxing.
