§ 827. Penalties

Any person who voluntarily disobeys, prevents, or hinders the discharge of the duties of the Advocacy Office, or any of its authorized agents, as provided in this chapter, or obstructs the holding of a hearing conducted pursuant to this chapter, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine that shall not exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) or by imprisonment for a maximum of six (6) months or both penalties, at the discretion of the court.

No evidence or testimony provided during an executive hearing shall be made public without the express consent of the Advocate or the person authorized by him/her. Any person who violates this provision shall be punished by a fine that shall not exceed five hundred dollars ($500) or by imprisonment for a term that shall not exceed six (6) months or both penalties, at the discretion of the court.
