§ 712. Contribution of the Government of Puerto Rico

The Government of Puerto Rico through its agencies, departments, offices, public instrumentalities and other government entities concerned with these efforts, shall:

(1) Carry out the plans, analyses and studies to uphold the public policy established in this chapter and develop a strategic and integrated plan;

(2) submit to the Institute for its comments and recommendations the plans, analyses and studies ordered pursuant to this chapter;

(3) identify the needs of the People of Cuba in view of the eventual opening of the Island to the world of democratic nations;

(4) attend the public and executive meeting of the Institute when so required;

(5) identify the scope, repercussions, challenges and opportunities the reinsertion of Cuba into the community of democratic nations means for Puerto Rico, and

(6) cooperate with the Institute and furnish to the latter, free of charges and fees, all official information, books, pamphlets or publications, certified copies of documents, statistics and data collected that the Institute may solicit for official use.

Provided, That the government agencies and dependencies shall, when required, make available to the Institute, pursuant and subject to the applicable regulations and legislation in effect, the necessary resources and facilities according to their availability to fulfill the purposes of this chapter.
