§ 597. Applicability

The scope of the immunity that may be granted by virtue of other acts in effect shall never be less than that provided for in § 594 of this title. The powers granted to officials by virtue of other special acts to ponder and process the petitions for the granting of immunity shall remain fully in force and in effect while complying with all the proceedings provided by this chapter. The provisions which require prior approval of every request for immunity by the Secretary of Justice, will not be applicable to the proceedings initiated by virtue of Act No. 1 of January 18, 1985 and § 99h et seq. of Title 3, which create the positions of Special Prosecutor.
