§ 533a. Benefits or subsidies

Those municipalities of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico that own facilities where cultural, artistic, recreational or sports activities are held or that acquire these from the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or from any of its agencies to use and operate the same for such purposes, must establish, through an ordinance, within a term not greater than ninety (90) days as of the date of approval of this act, those benefits or subsidies they regard as proper in their jurisdiction in benefit of those persons of over sixty (60) and seventy-five (75) years of age that would attend the shows held there.

Once the municipality has approved said ordinance, notice thereof must be submitted to the Department of State and to the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture and a copy provided to any interested party.

In case a municipality in particular should fail to approve the aforementioned ordinance within the term established in this section, the provisions of §§ 531 and 533 of this title shall apply thereto.

The free tickets requested by the duly identified persons as provided in this section to any show, artistic or sports activity held in the facilities of the municipalities, government agencies or dependencies may not be in conflict among themselves in terms of their time, since it is expected that once the tickets are requested, the show shall be attended.
