§ 256. Executive Director—Appointment

The administrative matters of the Commission shall be directed by an Executive Director appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Health, after consulting the members of the Food and Nutrition Commission. The Executive Director shall be a person of recognized capacity and experience in the science of nutrition with knowledge in the areas of administration and management, and shall meet the requirements of §§ 2181 et seq. of Title 20, that regulates the practice of the nutrition and dietetics profession in Puerto Rico. He/she will hold office at the volition of the Secretary of the Department of Health.

The Executive Director shall earn the salary or remuneration fixed by the Secretary of the Department of Health in consultation with the Commission pursuant to the standards that govern in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico for offices of equal or similar nature. He/she shall be entitled to the benefits of §§ 761 et seq. of Title 3, which establishes the Retirement System of the Employees of the Government of Puerto Rico and its Instrumentalities.
