§ 1609. Receipt or bill: when adequate compliance with commercial contract

The question whether a document is adequate to fulfill the obligations of a contract for sale is governed by the applicable provisions of App. I of Title 10, known as the “Commerce Code of Puerto Rico” and §§ 1 et seq. of Title 31, known as the “Civil Code of Puerto Rico” and the question whether a document is adequate to fulfill the conditions of a credit is governed by the chapter on letters of credit (§§ 1221-1236 of this title).
