§ 5419. Emergency equipment

Every bus and vehicle used to haul freight, as a tow truck and every bus shall be equipped with three (3) orange reflecting triangles; one to be located at a distance of one hundred (100) feet from the front of the motor vehicle, another to be placed at the side of the vehicle in question, and another to be placed one hundred (100) feet from the rear of said vehicle when it breaks down and is unable to continue traveling during daylight hours, and it is necessary to leave it on the roadway of the public highway until it is repaired or towed.

If the breakdown occurs during the hours when the use of lights is required by this subchapter, three (3) orange reflector triangles shall be placed to signal the emergency stop of the broken down vehicle. They shall be placed from one hundred (100) feet to five hundred (500) feet on hills, curves and obstructions, and from fifty (50) to three hundred (300) feet on divided or one-way roads, in which case the third triangle shall be placed beside the vehicle at a distance of ten (10) feet from the pavement.
