§ 5101. General rule

The driver of any vehicle involved in an accident in which another vehicle or property has been damaged, or in which a person has been injured or killed, shall immediately stop his/her vehicle at, or as close to the scene of the accident as possible, so as to avoid obstructing traffic and in compliance with all obligations provided in this chapter. Should a driver stop his/her vehicle close to the scene of the accident, but not exactly at the site itself, he/she shall return to the scene of the accident and remain there until he/she has complied with the provisions of § 5103 of this title. Any stop shall be made without obstructing traffic more than may be necessary.
