§ 3511. Certificate of ownership and license plate number

Once the registration of a unit has been accepted, the Secretary shall issue to the owner, after the latter has paid the corresponding fees, a license plate number and a certificate of ownership, which shall bear its date of issue; the number of title deed assigned; the name, address and social security number of the owner; the names and addresses of the persons who has placed liens on said unit; and a complete description of the same, including the make, the model and the vehicle identification number (VIN), as well as any other information the Secretary deems convenient or necessary to identify the unit or its registration. All transactions in connection with the ownership of the unit shall be recorded on the back of the certificate, after any possible liens have been cancelled and the payment of fees updated. The Secretary shall provide on the reverse of the certificate of ownership a form to execute the transfer or reassignment of the same, pursuant to the requirements established in this chapter.
