§ 2166. Payment of fees

The following fees shall be paid:

(a) For the certificates issued by the General Register of Notarial Competences, five dollars ($5).

(b) For every procedure in the Notarial seat, the fee provided in §§ 851 et seq. of this title, to be canceled in the site of the notarial certificate.

(c) For the first certified copy of the Notarial Certificate issued to the enjoiner, the fee that is provided in §§ 851 et seq. of this title. All other certified copies shall be exempted from the payment of fees.

(d) For the serving of the decision of the Notary in the procedure, the fee that is provided in §§ 1476—1486 of Title 32; for the presentation and notification of the matters referred to in this chapter, before the Parts of the General Court of Justice.

The payment of fees shall be made through internal revenue stamps and notarial tax stamps. The payment of these fees may be made by electronic means once this system for the payment of fees has been installed. The funds collected for the payment of the fees established in this chapter shall be deposited in the Special Fund created by § 1482b of Title 32, after discounting the one percent (1%) thereof that corresponds to the Department of the Treasury.

Persons who enjoy exemption from the payment of fees for special laws, shall be exempted from the payment of the fees provided hereby.
