§ 736. Disbarment or suspension—Deceit or collusion; liability to injured person; filing of complaint

An attorney or counsellor who, in the practice of his profession, is guilty of any deceit or collusion, or consents to any deceit or collusion with intent to deceive the court or a party to any legal proceedings, forfeits to the party injured by his deceit or collusion, treble damages; and he may be suspended from practice or removed from office by order of the Supreme Court. The party injured by the fraud or collusion or any other person may file in the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, without the payment of any fee, a complaint against the attorney, or counsellor guilty of such fraud or collusion, praying that he be suspended from practice or removed from office.
