The Puerto Rico Access to Justice Fund (hereinafter the “Fund”) is hereby created to provide resources to nonprofit organizations that provide free legal aid for cases involving civil matters, Juvenile Court, and Drug Courts to persons qualified as low-income individuals in accordance with federal poverty guidelines, wherein the interest earned in the accounts known as “Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts” (IOLTA) shall be deposited, as provided in this Act.
