§ 72c. Judiciary Appointment Office—Procedure

Any person interested in being appointed as a judge, or any judge interested in being renominated or promoted, shall fill out an application before the Judiciary Appointment Office and comply with the procedures and meet the requirements established in this chapter and its regulations. In the case of renominations, the application shall be filled out at least six (6) months prior to the expiration of his/her term. The Office shall refer the applications to the corresponding bodies for their evaluation and recommendation to the Governor. Once the Evaluating Committee and the Judiciary Evaluation Commission have submitted their evaluations and recommendations, the Governor may request more information or a more detailed analysis of any particular aspect. Should the terms provided by this chapter elapse without the Committee or the Judiciary Branch having submitted the corresponding evaluation report and their recommendation, the Governor may act on the application as he/she deems convenient.
