Rule 3. Fees and mileage

Jurors shall be entitled to receive fees at the rate of six (6) dollars per appearance and mileage at the rate of ten (10) cents per mile travelled in each round trip to and from the court, provided the distance covered exceeds three (3) miles, or in defect thereof, the trip expenses via ordinary means of transportation will be reimbursed to them.

If the juror comes from Vieques or Culebra he shall then be entitled to receive fees at the rate of eight (8) dollars per appearance and mileage at the rate of fifteen (15) cents per mile covered by land and the trip expenses via ordinary means of overseas transportation.

If the juror is an officer or employee of an agency, dependency, or instrumentality of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, he shall only be entitled to payment for per diems and mileage pursuant to the provisions of Regulation No. 37 of the Treasury Department.

As of July 1, 1971, juror’s fees shall be paid at the rate of eight (8) dollars daily and to those coming from Vieques and Culebra at the rate of ten (10) dollars daily.
