§ 3003. Aims and purposes

The Office for the Regulation and Promotion of the Beef Industry is hereby created with the main purpose of promoting activities, programs and services which foster the development and strengthening of the beef industry in Puerto Rico. This Office shall receive ten percent (10%) of the funds collected pursuant to § 3008 of this title, for its operation and administrative functions. In addition to any other provision of §§ 3001—3012 of this title, the Office shall have the following aims and purposes:

(1) To promote beef production and consumption, as well as to stimulate and strengthen the establishment of new production units to be administered individually or through cooperatives, companies, corporations or groups of people.

(2) To promote the orderly marketing of locally-produced as well as imported beef.

(3) To offer beef producers and importers, technical advisory services in matters pertaining to beef production, sale, marketing, and importing, and with regard to practices for the administration of production units.
