§ 828. Penalties

Any natural or juridical person violating any of the provisions of §§ 821—828 of this title shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not less than fifty [dollars] ($50) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200), or by imprisonment in jail for a period of not less than one (1) month nor more than three (3) months, or both, in the discretion of the court; it being understood, that in case of recidivism such natural or [juridical] person shall be punished by a fine of not less than two hundred [dollars] ($200) nor more than two thousand dollars ($2,000), or by imprisonment in jail for not less than two (2) months nor more than one (1) year, or both, in the discretion of the court.
