The Secretary of the Sports and Recreation Department together with the President of the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee and the President of the federation corresponding to the applicant’s sport, shall select, from among those who apply and qualify, the number of students, allowed by the resources available in the Fund annually for such purposes. The amount of each scholarship shall not exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) per year, except in the case of scholarships destined for studies whose annual cost exceeds one thousand dollars ($1,000), in which case it may be increased to two thousand dollars ($2,000) per year.
The amount of the contracts to be awarded to technicians and trainers of high-performance athletes shall be determined pursuant to the regulations adopted by the Sports and Recreation Department to such effect.
