This board shall have in its charge the maintenance and improvement of Colón Park, of all historic monuments, and of buildings and dependencies now existing thereon, as well as of all those that may be constructed hereafter, and shall cooperate with the authorities who appropriate funds for the maintenance and beautifying of said park. The said board is empowered to plan and construct all kinds of works that may be adaptable to the purpose of furnishing the most attractions for the public and especially for school children, and the said board may lease such sites as it may deem advisable for public shows and for such other purposes as the board may decide upon, under a plan and conditions established by it.
