§ 551d. Permits for use—Granting

After the effectiveness of this act, any merchant who is interested in using the insignias protected by §§ 551a—551k of this title, and the radio and television broadcasts, for the manufacture, distribution, sale, or offer to sell articles or products, must first obtain a written permit from the Organizing Entity authorizing the same, as an indispensable requirement for the use of said insignias and the radio and television broadcasts.

Said Organizing Entity may issue said permits and charge a fee for the use and commercial exploitation of the insignias, and the radio and television broadcasts, in the manner prescribed by §§ 551a—551k of this title and its regulations, giving equal opportunity to all merchants to participate in the bidding to obtain said permits.
