§ 17. Admission tickets to sports events—Penalties; impresario defined

Any impresario of a sports event or any employee thereof who refuses or in any way fails to comply with the provisions of §§ 15—20 of this title or of the regulations that the Secretary of the Treasury may prescribe for implementing same, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction punished by a fine of not less than two hundred dollars ($200) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500), or by imprisonment in jail for a term of not less than thirty (30) days nor more than six (6) months. For the purposes of §§ 15—20 of this title, the word “impresario” includes, but without any limitation whatsoever, the owner, co-owner, manager, assistant manager, administrator, assistant administrator, or person in charge of the management of any sports team or aggregation; any natural or [juridical] person who directly or indirectly takes part in the promotion or running of any sports event or show; or any natural or [juridical] person who in any other capacity takes part, directly or indirectly, in any aspect of a sports event or show.
