Youth cooperatives are youth organizations which require the assessment and support of an adult in order to attain the objectives and purposes for which they are created. The Board of Directors, in coordination with the school directors or the sponsoring entity, may appoint a person from the school community to perform the work of advisor. This person, preferably a parent, teacher or a cooperativist community leader, must be a person of proven moral integrity with the recognition and respect of the school community.
When a teacher is appointed to act as advisor, he/she shall be assigned a minimum of three (3) teaching schedules that expedite the work in question, according to the agreement with the educational institution, and they shall be exempted from the commitment of conducting a home room.
