§ 1082. Inclusive assistive technology library services

All the libraries of the University of Puerto Rico, private universities, higher education institutions, and the municipalities shall offer inclusive assistive technology library services.

Every library in the University of Puerto Rico, private universities, higher education institutions, and municipalities shall have:

(a) An assistive technology room to offer inclusive assistive technology library services or assistive technology equipment placed throughout the whole library, so that such services may be available to persons with disabilities.

(b) At least one resource trained in Assistive Technology through an AT Certification offered by the Puerto Rico Assistive Technology Program (PRATP) or an institution recognized by the same, aimed at providing and strengthening knowledge of assistive technology programs and equipment, among others. These services shall not substitute the assistive technology services for which other public or private entities are legally responsible.
