§ 910v. Scholarship for Young Bilingual Students

(a) The “Scholarship for Young Bilingual Students” is hereby created, to be granted annually by the House of Representatives to a high school senior of the Public Education System, who shall be selected by a committee, to be designated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

(b) The committee, in coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Education of Puerto Rico, shall organize contests, coordinate and supervise activities in educational regions to carry out the task of selecting the student who shall receive the scholarship pursuant to the regulations established for the granting thereof by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

(c) Said scholarship shall be granted in cash and each year, the House of Representatives of Puerto Rico shall set aside from its Budget of General Expenses, the sum of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) for its granting.
