§ 897. Scholarships in medicine, odontology or veterinary science—Rules for qualification and cancellation

The Committee is hereby empowered to prescribe the norms, rules or conditions needed to select the candidates who shall be granted financial aid, and for the canceling of said aid when the academic proficiency, conduct or any other circumstances established by the Council by regulation may so warrant. The minimum requirements under which students may be candidates for financial aid, are as follows;

(a) Academic index of not less than 2.50.

(b) Duly justified limited financial resources that will not allow the student or responsible family member to pay for his/her studies.

(c) Be admitted to the Medical Science Campus of the University of Puerto Rico or any school of medicine, dentistry, or school of veterinary medicine established in Puerto Rico and duly authorized by the Council on Higher Education, or that obtains a license of authorization from said Council in the disciplines stated above, in schools outside of Puerto Rico which are duly accredited by the Puerto Rico Board of Medical Examiners or corresponding Examining Boards.
