§ 47a. Pilot project

The Office of the General Coordinator for Socioeconomic Financing and Self-Management, in coordination with the Department of Housing, the Department of Health and the Department of the Family, is hereby authorized to establish a pilot project in those special communities where a greater need for these services has been observed.

The Department of the Family, through the Administration for the Care and Integral Development of Children (ACUDEN, Spanish acronym), and with the collaboration of the Department of Health, shall set forth the proper standards and procedures to govern the services offered in day-care centers so as to guarantee, among other things, the physical and emotional health of the children and the providers of the services to be offered. Likewise, the Department of Housing, through the Administration for Community Revitalization (ARCO, Spanish acronym), shall establish the mechanisms to foster the development of these facilities and see to it that said services are organized under a micro-managerial system operated by the residents themselves.
