§ 445b. Hospitals; orientation services

During pregnancy and when a child is born, public and private hospitals, in coordination with the Department of the Family and the Department of Health, must provide orientation to parents on the prevention of abuse and/or neglect. This orientation shall include, but shall not be limited to the following matters: the obligations and skills required for responsible parenthood, child rearing with affection and free of violence, the effects of abuse on the development of the child, the consequences of child abuse and/or neglect on the family and on the dignity and integrity of the human rights of children. They will also be given a directory of services to which they may apply for further guidance and/or help on matters such as child rearing and harmonious family life.
