Section 67.922 - Rights, powers, privileges, immunities, and responsibilities of unified local government - Continuance of county and city laws - Enactment and enforcement of ordinances(1) A unified local government may exercise the constitutional and statutory rights, powers, privileges, immunities, and responsibilities of counties and of cities of the first class or home rule class within the unified local government: (a) In effect on the date the unified local government becomes effective;(b) Which may subsequently be authorized for or imposed upon counties and cities of that class; and(c) Which may be authorized for or imposed upon unified local governments.(2) If a city of the first class exists within the county on the date that the unified local government becomes effective and that city is part of the unified local government, the unified local government may also exercise the constitutional and statutory rights, powers, privileges, immunities, and responsibilities of a city of the first class in addition to its authority to exercise the rights, powers, privileges, immunities, and responsibilities granted under subsection (1) of this section.(3) A unified local government shall be accorded the same sovereign immunity granted counties, their agencies, officers, and employees.(4) All ordinances of a unified local government shall be enacted and enforced pursuant to KRS 83A.060 and 83A.065.Amended by 2019 Ky.
