Section 176.240 - Federal aid for road building - Cooperation by department - Allocation of funds(1) The department may contract with the federal government in regard to the survey, construction and maintenance of roads under any Act of Congress providing federal aid to the states in road construction, and may, subject to the rules of the United States Secretary of Agriculture, make plans for and supervise the construction of federal aid roads, and may do all things necessary to fully carry out the cooperation contemplated.(2) The department may set apart out of moneys appropriated out of the state road fund an amount equal to any sum allotted to the state by the federal government, or any sum necessary to carry on cooperative work with the federal government.(3) The State Treasurer may receive money due under the provisions of any federal aid act, and he shall pay out such money upon warrants of the Finance and Administration Cabinet issued in payment of claims certified by the Department of Highways.Effective:10/1/1942
