Section 24-710 - Fees; compensation of clerk and commissioners

The clerk of the district court shall tax as costs and receive as fees the same compensation for services rendered by him under the provisions of this act as are allowed by the statutes of Kansas to clerks for like official services performed in civil actions, and none other; and the clerk of the district court shall be liable on his official bond for all moneys which may come into his hands under the provisions of this act. The drainage commissioners shall receive for such services as may be performed by them under the provisions of this act such sum per day, not exceeding in any case six dollars per day, as may be fixed and allowed by the court in said proceedings, and the allowance per day as fixed by the court shall be their entire compensation, including their expenses.

Upon the approval by the court of any report of the commissioners made by them, as provided in this act, the court shall make an order allowing the commissioners compensation for all the time spent by such commissioners in the performance of their duties as commissioners of drainage, as shown by such report, and allowed by the court at the rate per day fixed by the court, and the clerk of the court shall pay to such commissioners the sum so allowed by the order of the court from any moneys in his hands derived from the payment of assessments for benefits.
