Section 21-6415 - Illegal ownership or keeping of an animal(a) Illegal ownership or keeping of an animal is, with no requirement of a culpable mental state, owning, or keeping on one's premises, an animal by a person convicted of unlawful conduct of dog fighting as defined in K.S.A. 21-6414, and amendments thereto, or cruelty to animals as defined in subsection (a)(1) of K.S.A. 21-6412, and amendments thereto, within five years of the date of such conviction.(b) Illegal ownership or keeping of an animal is a class B nonperson misdemeanor.L. 1984, ch. 123, § 3; L. 1992, ch. 239, § 222; L. 1993, ch. 291, § 170; L. 2006, ch. 126, § 2; July 1; L. 2010, ch. 136, § 226, 7/1/2011.
