Section 19-1577 - Bonds for combination courthouse and memorial building or courthouse, jail and memorial building in certain counties; election

That any county in this state in which a tax levy has been made for the purpose of erecting a courthouse or courthouse and jail under the provisions of section 19-1506 and 19-1507 of the General Statutes of 1935, and more than ninety thousand dollars ($90,000) has been collected on such levies and is available for such purpose, and in which a proposition to acquire a site and build, establish and maintain a suitable memorial building to the service men and women of such county has been submitted to the voters of the county and has carried by a majority of those voting on the proposition and a levy has been made for such memorial building and more than fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) has been collected on such levies and is available for that purpose, shall be and is hereby authorized to erect and equip a combination courthouse and memorial building or courthouse, jail and memorial building and to use any funds collected on the levies above referred to for that purpose and is hereby authorized to issue general obligation bonds of such county, in an amount not exceeding two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to provide funds to be used in conjunction with the proceeds of the aforesaid tax levies in acquiring a site and erecting and equipping such combination courthouse and memorial building. Said building shall not be constructed and said bonds shall not be issued unless authorized by a majority of the electors voting on the proposition at a general election, or at a special election called by the board of county commissioners for that purpose, at which the proposition shall be submitted in accordance with the provisions of the general bond law.
