Section 16a-3-203 - [Effective 1/1/2025] (UCCC) Notice of assignment(1) The consumer is authorized to pay the original creditor until he receives notification of assignment of rights to payment pursuant to a consumer credit transaction and that payment is to be made to the assignee. A notification which does not reasonably identify the rights assigned is ineffective. If requested by the consumer, the assignee must provide reasonable proof that the assignment has been made or the consumer may pay the original creditor.(2) If the payment is received by the assignor of a consumer credit contract for the benefit of the assignee, the date of payment shall be deemed to be the day payment is received by the assignor.Amended by L. 2024, ch. 6,§ 63, eff. 1/1/2025.L. 1973, ch. 85, § 43; 1/1/1974.This section is set out more than once due to postponed, multiple, or conflicting amendments.
