If in the state forester's opinion an application filed under section 11 of this chapter and the land to be classified comply with the provisions of this chapter, the state forester shall approve the application. In addition, the state forester shall notify the assessor of the county in which the land is located that the application has been approved and return one (1) approved application form to the applicant.
