Section 36-2-11-2 - Residence; term of office(a) The county recorder must reside within the county as provided in Article 6, Section 6 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana. The recorder forfeits office if the recorder ceases to be a resident of the county.(b) The term of office of the county recorder under Article 6, Section 2 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana is four (4) years and continues until a successor is elected and qualified.Pre-Local Government Recodification Citations: 17-3-1-1 part; 17-3-39-1 part.
