Section 33-42-15-1 - Secretary of state authentication(a) The secretary of state may attest to the authenticity of the signature of a public official in Indiana.(b) Except as provided in subsection (c), the secretary of state may attest to the authenticity of a signature or certify a signature of a notary public.(c) The secretary of state may not certify or attest to the signature of a notary public on a document regarding: (1) allegiance to a government or jurisdiction;(2) the relinquishment or renunciation of citizenship, military status, sovereignty, or world service authority; or(3) a claim of immunity from the jurisdiction of the United States, the laws of any state of the United States, or federal law.Added by P.L. 128-2017,SEC. 23, eff. 1/1/2018.
