Ind. Code § 12-24-15-1

The liability created by this article for payment of any type of cost of treatment and maintenance of a patient constitutes a lien upon the real property of the patient and responsible parties of the patient whenever the lien has been recorded according to this chapter. The lien has priority over all liens subsequently acquired.
