Section 755 ILCS 27/30 - Transfer on death instrument nontestamentary

A transfer on death instrument is a nontestamentary instrument and is subject to all other laws governing or affecting transfers by nontestamentary instruments. A transfer on death instrument may not be admitted to probate as the will of the owner or as a codicil thereto.
