Section 225 ILCS 65/70-85 - [Section Scheduled to be Repealed 1/1/2028] Stenographer; Transcript

The Department, at its expense, shall provide a stenographer to take down the testimony and preserve a record of all formal hearing proceedings if a license may be revoked, suspended, or placed on probationary status or other disciplinary action may be taken . Any licensee who is found to have violated this Act or who fails to appear for a hearing to refuse to issue, restore, or renew a license or to discipline a license may be required by the Department to pay for the costs of the proceeding. These costs are limited to costs for court reporters, transcripts, and witness attendance and mileage fees. The Secretary may waive payment of costs by a licensee in whole or in part where there is an undue financial hardship. The notice of hearing, complaint and all other documents in the nature of pleadings and written motions filed in the proceedings, the transcript of testimony, the report of the Board and the orders of the Department shall be the record of the proceedings. The Department shall furnish a transcript of the record to any person interested in the hearing upon payment of the fee required under Section 2105-115 of the Department of Professional Regulation Law ( 20 ILCS 2105/2105-115) .
