Section 5 ILCS 312/7-106 - Willful Impersonation(a) Any person who acts as, or otherwise willfully impersonates, a notary public while not lawfully appointed and commissioned to perform notarial acts is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.(b) Any notary public or other person who is not an electronic notary public that impersonates an electronic notary public to perform electronic notarial acts is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.Amended by P.A. 102-0160,§ 5, eff. 6/5/2023 (see P.A. 103-0562,§ 91, eff. 11/17/2023).
