Section 40 ILCS 5/7-167 - Separation benefits - Payment

Separation benefits shall be paid in the form of a single cash sum as soon as practicable after receipt by the board of:

1.a written application by the employee for such benefits; and

2.written notice from the last employing participating municipality or instrumentality thereof or participating instrumentality, certifying that such participating employee has separated from service.
